FaceHome“Face” is an art book inspired by Zixi’s visit to a library, where she encountered numerous 20th-century posters. She observed that obscuring the faces of figures dramatically altered the viewer’s perception of the entire image. This led her to question how interpretation shifts when only the face is revealed. For the project, Zixi printed palm-sized posters evoking four emotions—grievance, anger, sadness, and excitement—and bound them with spiral binding. Each page is overlaid with translucent sulfuric acid paper that reveals only part of a face, drawing immediate attention to the figure. On the reverse, a matrix of faces establishes the visual rhythm and emotional tone of the book.
