Lose FocusHome “Lose Focus” (2023) is an art book project by Zixi that examines the uneasy intersection of nature and human artifice. In this series, Zixi adorns plants and flowers with jewelry—rings, earrings, and necklaces—creating a deliberate dissonance between organic growth and artificial luxury. This contrast satirizes humanity’s self-righteousness and its excessive intervention in the natural world. The book’s design further reinforces this tension: its cover and content are conceived as separate entities, while the pages are connected with a ribbon reminiscent of a photo album. Through both imagery and form, Lose Focus reflects on the fragility of ecological balance and the consequences of aestheticizing intrusion.
