How to take away all ORANGE from the marketHome
This project explores sustainable consumption practices through a playful intervention at the Claremont Farmers & Artisan Market in Los Angeles. Zixi selected orange-colored goods—carrots, oranges, sunflowers, dried mangoes, honey, and handwoven baskets—and carried them without disposable plastic bags. By highlighting the visual coherence of the “orange collection,” the project draws attention to everyday choices of packaging, waste, and environmental responsibility. It both thanks participants for avoiding single-use plastics and demonstrates how aesthetic framing can encourage sustainable habits. The work situates ecological awareness within daily acts of shopping, emphasizing design’s role in reshaping consumption behaviors.

Thank you for not using disposable plastic bags!
