Home “Come in, please”(2023) is a photography project created by Zixi during her freshman year at Pitzer College. Rooted in her long-standing interest in spatial design, the series documents student-decorated dormitory rooms across campus. Each room becomes more than a private living space; its decoration, style, and furnishings act as extensions of the occupant’s identity. Zixi views these interiors as reflections of personal aesthetics, consumption patterns, values, and social positioning. By framing everyday spaces as portraits, the project explores how individuals negotiate belonging and self-expression within communal environments, turning dorm rooms into intimate maps of life and worldview.
